| Q: | Is there a central computer that determines when machines will hit? |
| A: | No. All gaming devices in the State of Nevada determine their outcome independently. Central computers may be used to monitor machines and maintain a variety of information, however, they do not have the ability to influence the outcome of any game. |
| Q: | How do you vary the payback percentage on a video poker game? |
| A: | Video poker games of the same type always operate using the same size deck(s) and rules. To vary the payback percentage, the awards are simply increased or decreased for particular winning hands. |
| Q: | How does the Gaming Control Board verify the integrity of gaming devices in a casino? |
| A: | On a daily basis, Field Inspection Teams from the Electronic Services Division randomly select and inspect locations throughout the state. The inspection teams utilize equipment that compares the programs in the gaming device to a database that contains copies of all programs approved for use in the state. If the inspected program exactly matches the program in the GCB database, it is determined to be valid. |
